Eat Local, Support Local: Why Wouldn’t You?
We do what we can to support, prepare and serve local agriculture and livestock. Not everything we serve is local nor organic, but we do what we can and still keep our menu reasonably priced. We don’t do this because it is hip and trendy, we started doing this on day one because it’s the right thing to do.
For some reason the food just tastes better knowing the person of passion who spent their blood, sweat and tears growing the produce or raising the livestock with the best of intentions, purely and humanely.
Beyond tasting better, local is better for you, a better way to reduce your carbon foot print and a great way to support our local economy. Organic is good, but organic has become an overused marketing term. Much of organic produce available to us at the market can come all the way from California, China or Latin America. How much oil was used to get those ‘Organic’ Cheerios produced and then shipped all over the US? Local and sustainable is what truly matters most. Seek authenticity.
